We are having an extraordinary week with almost half of the group away with a dreadful flu virus… headaches and nausea, fevers and sore throats. All sounds very nasty and seems to be very hard to shake. I hope they are all feeling better very soon.
Please remember that I always need an email (preferably) as early as possible on the day of absence. If your child is away for more than three days, the school needs to have a medical certificate stating the reason for the absence.
I have a few more bookings for Parent Interviews but still quite a few to go. PLEASE make a time for this. I would like to get them completed this term!
I will put a separate note about the FAIR in the newsletter and send one home as well. We will need quite a lot of help with this and so far not many offers have come through. We are sending a request to Council next week for a budget!
On to academic matters, we have now started on 2D shapes in maths and have completed writing tasks involving descriptive language in English. We are investigating issues concerning The Future as a theme with some science and HSIE elements. We are also doing lots of cooking… and, inevitably, eating! This has been augmented by quite a few birthday treats recently! Many thanks to the children and parents who have been sharing birthday cakes with us!
Have a great week… and stay well! Love, Wendy
