Louise’s Class

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Vocal Nosh on Friday. The singing from the children was beautiful and we were so lucky to be able to perform outside. Thank you for coming and supporting the event.

During our Class’ performance, some of the children in our class behaved in an inappropriate and disruptive way. On Monday we had a class meeting to discuss what had happened, how people felt and what the consequences might be. It was a really valuable learning experience for us all. When things go wrong, there is always a way to work it out and move forward. As a class we agreed that part of the consequences for two children would be that they would write an apology  to the school community.

This week we put all our planning to good use and we wrote our own task for Hercules. We plan to edit and then publish them. Hopefully, we will then invite all the parents to come in and share them with us at a ‘Myth Sharing Afternoon’.

We have been architects this week; researching ancient Greek architecture and then designing our own Greek temple. We will be making the book corner into a temple so pop in to see how much progress we have made. Also, have a look at the plasticine models covering the desks; there are some unusual creations!

Excursion: next Friday 23rd the whole school will be going the NSW Art Gallery to see the Picasso exhibition. The children will need to be at school no later than 8.45am, as the buses will be leaving promptly at 9am and will return to the school by 1pm. They will need the usual: hat, shoes, morning tea, lunch and sunscreen. The gallery have strict rules and limited space for bags so please ensure your child has a smaller, appropriate bag they can put their lunch into.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Apology: We are sorry for disrupting our class’ vocal nosh and we will improve for the play.
